This exciting tour features the stunning beauty of China's quintessential natural scenery in Guilin, the Li River, Yangshuo, Kunming, Lijiang, Dali and the glamour of Hong Kong, the Oriental Pearl where the East meets the West
Day 1 Transcend space across the Pacific Ocean
Fly direct across the Pacific Ocean. After touching down at the International Airport in Guangzhou, we will transit to a 45-min domestic flight bound for Guilin, the first destination of our China Tour.
Day 2-3 Step into the Fairyland – Guilin, the Li River and Yangshuo
If you ask the Chinese where to go for the best natural scenery, the answer is almost unanimous – Guilin as ‘the landscape here is beyond compare’.
Set in the supernatural karst topography, Guilin boasts some of the most amazing natural wonders in the world - the incredibly intriguing limestone cliffs, zigzag karst caverns, stalactites in amazing colours and shapes, fascinating underground lakes and shoals, and above all the picturesque Li River mirroring the unimaginable artwork by nature in complete serenity.
Among the highlights of our Guilin tour are a most relaxing and refreshing cruise along the Li River known as the ‘100-mile Art Gallery’; enjoying the most charming landscapes along the Li River – the Hill of Nine Horses racing against each other, the Elephant Trunk Hill rising at the junction between the Li River and Peach Blossom River, the twin gold-silver towers, the Slice of Sunshine, the Pagoda of Sunset, the Reed Flute Cavern…
The cruise ends in Yangshuo, another fairyland with the endless paddy fields, the wading buffaloes, the quacking ducks, and the mist winding around the emerald pinnacles…
Our Guilin tour culminates in a spectacular evening outdoor show - Impression Sister Liu - against the picturesque backdrop of the Li River and majestic limestone mountains. It was directed by Zhang Yimou, an Oskar award winner for the best foreign film director.
Day 4-9 Marvel at the wonder of nature – Kunming, Dali and Lijiang
After parting Guilin, the Li River and Yangshuo, we will embark on an exciting tour to Kunming, ‘the City of Perpetual Spring’. For centuries, the sheer charm of the landscape in Kunming has captivated and amazed visitors all over the world, among them Marco Polo who documented the fascinating land of Kunming in his travel diary – The Travels of Marco Polo in the 13th century.
Among the highlights of our Kunming Tour are the Stone Forest, the unimaginable wonder purely created by the hands of nature through millions of years of ‘carving’ by wind and rain; the ancient sacred Chongsheng Triple Pagodas built in Tang and Sun Dynasty; and the largest majestic Buddhist temple group ever constructed in south China.
The panorama of China’s quintessential natural sceneries keeps unfolding as we arrive in magic Dali and Lijiang. Among the highlights of our Dali and Lijiang tour are Dali and Lijiang Ancient Towns, the World Cultural Heritage Site designated by the UNESCO. Walking down the old cobblestone streets paved more than 700 hundred years ago, strolling around the pristine town dotted with ancient primitive houses and shops, we are stepping back in time for hundreds of years. Experiencing the famous Dong Ba culture and primitive lifestyle, scaling the Jade Dragon Mountain known as ‘the closest glacier to the equator’ and walking through the subtropical rain forests a few thousand meters above the sea level offers our tour participants a sensational lifetime experience!
Day 10-11 Relax and Reenergize with a 2-Day Exercise Accreditation Training Workshop
You will have a special opportunity to participate in a 2-day Tai Chi / Qigong accreditation training workshop. But this is optional. You can choose to have one day for free activities and half a day for therapeutic massage training and relaxation instead.
Day 12-13 Discover the glamour of Hong Kong
If Gulin, the Li River, Yangshuo, Kunming, Lijiang and Dali are a masterpiece by nature, then Hong Kong is a masterpiece by man. Hong Kong is not a city but a world, a world of fascination and excitement, and a world of diversity and contrast. It is here that the East truly meets the West. You will have one-day free time to stroll the streets of Hong Kong at your own pace, exploring this fascinating, dynamic and vibrant global village for heading to Guangzhou.
Day 14 Relax and refresh at the port city of Guangzhou before boarding the international flight bound for Sydney

China Tour May 2009
What an impact China had on me, now that I have retuned home, and had time to reflect on those 15 wonderful days on tour. You gave us so much more than I could ever imagine. You took us through each day, providing the best of food, balanced in its textures and flavors, and seating us in beautiful environments, within and without our unforgettable hotels. So I cam away with soul fed and natured by magnificent scenery, beauty, art and culture. My memories of China would be indelible'

'Prue and I did have a fantastic time. We both agree, it was probably the best holiday we have been on and the reasons are clear... we saw so much, we did so much and all the arrangements were done for us. Obviously, there is no way, we could or would attempt such a trip without somebody like you two to “take us by the hand” '.

'I just wanted to let you know that both Annabelle and I really enjoyed our trip with you to China and we wanted to thank you for the wonderful way in which you cared for us throughout the trip. It really was a great experience which we would never have had if not for your well planned itinerary. Once again thanks'

China Tour May 2007
"What can we say!! An excellent tour all round. Our two weeks in China far exceeded all expectations. Our China tour produced a balance between social, cultural, historic, artistic and scenic sites and places of interest. Thank you for a wonderful workshop in Xian. The days at the Gulf Resort produced a much needed rest. During the tour, the food and accommodation were top class. We felt truly spoiled. Thank you also for taking such a good care of us all. Every minute of every day we felt safe knowing that you were both there for us"

Margaret Whiting

"Service was superb starting in Australia. Care and attention of the tour group was wonderful. I felt very escorted and cared for as a friend.
I have never before enjoyed a holiday so much. One constructive criticism: a little more free time or shopping time perhaps a full morning or afternoon'

China Tour 2006
"What a wonderful China Trip! Our accommodation, hotels, sightseeing so much of China and all without any stress was amazing. Our hotel, food and sightseeing were all five star. We could not have asked for anything better. Thank you both for all your hard work. My only additional comment by way of a suggestion would be that any future trip might incorporate a half day of free time to enable members of the group to do whatever they would personally like"
Jacqueline Walther

' Hello Alice and Henry, thank you for an absolutely delightful trip to China. Parts of it keep coming back to my mind, and every time it just gets better. I get lovely replays. All of your arrangements were spot on. Travel and transport, tourist information, and hotels were superb. Alice , thank you for the way you approached your teaching of the Tai Chi for Health and Fall Injury Prevention forms. The attention that you gave each of us personally certainly built my self confidence'
Jackie Clarke

'I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. It was an incredible adventure in a caring and protective environment with a well-balanced program of sightseeing and cultural experiences. The change of activity with massage and Tai Chi courses at the Golf Resort was excellent'
Greta Reidy

'Dear Alice and Henry, Since arriving home we have spent time looking back on the trip to China and realize how fortunate we were to travel with you as our leaders. No detail was too small for your attention and your obvious concern and care for all in the party was much appreciated by everyone. The planning of the tour gave a wonderful insight into the Chinese culture and history and it would be difficult to describe our enjoyment of the wonderful banquets we were served. We were also very fortunate to be able to combine Tai Chi and massage training with other memorable parts of the tour. Please let us know if your planned tour to China (new Itinerary) in September 2007 goes ahead as we like to be considered for inclusion. Thank you for everything'
